Welcome & hello from Australia.  This page has been set up as a feeder page to files that appear to be beneficial in upgrading the firmware on the Navman PiN 300, which is really a Mitac Mio 168 GPS.

Please note that these upgrades ONLY work on the Mio 168, aka the Navman PiN 300, and not on the Navman 570.

Click here to download a zipped copy of the files. Load all 3 files to the same folder on the PiN. Using File Explorer, click on the exe file, select COM2 for the GPS Port & tap F/W Version. If you receive a reply, then the PiN is communicating with the GPS port & you are good to go for the next step. Tap OK, then tap Loader File & select the only file in the list, tap Target File & once again select the only file in the list, tap Update. The process takes a couple of minutes to complete. Do not touch anything during this process. Go for a walk & check on the weather, anything, just leave it alone! When it has finished, you can, if you need to prove to yourself that it worked, tap F/W Version again & see that the firmware version has changed.

Of course I take no responsibility if it trashes your PiN, yaddah yaddah yaddah, but it worked on mine. I can now get up to 9 3D fixes in my living room & it displays the correct time.

Click here for the R01 version of the ".s" file, which appears to be the "low speed" version, whatever that means.

More recent version (v10) of the firmware, courtesy of Medion, can be found here. I have not heard any success stories on this version, so please use caution.

And if you can't find the WinCEMonitor.zip file anywhere else, you'll find it here as well.

Click here to download the Anomaly Report Form for reporting Australian map anomalies to Navman Australia.

I would really appreciate it if you could drop me an e-mail message and tell me where you are from & whether the upgrade helped you. Address it to Rodney at:
