Martin Hawker of 1st Yass turns 15 today. After partying until his birthday actually started, he was woken by a songful chorus, just in time for breakfast. The final stages of project work continued today with a certain sense of urgency. The wet areas have been tiled & painted. And kitchen appliances have been delivered & installed. And the computer room was finished at midnight! We also attended a farewell dinner, to which we each invited a guest. Guests included people from Solomon Scouts, Red Cross, Police & local businesses. Work (& partying) continued after dinner back at the school, with the local kids providing an atmosphere of energy that kept the rest of us going. Departure & arrival arrangements, (which are also on the "essentials" page - also updated today), are as follows (local times): We leave here late morning tomorrow for the airport, which was known as Henderson Field during the war. We need to be there by around noon, for a 3 pm flight, arriving Brisbane 5 pm. The bus collects us at 7:30 & we're "on the road again". By about 9 am Friday morning, we will have a very good arrival time estimate & will advise Branch Office on 6282 5211 before 10 am. Christine (unfinished)
